I am working on marking ring boundaries in CooRecorder. I am marking both yearly rings and transition boundaries between Earlywood/Latewood. Where is the appropriate place to mark the transition boundary when the boundary is not clear? See attached photo.

Dear Nicole,
In my opinion the best option is the below one. It could consider some gaps of "earlywood" within latewood, just like it happens in the previous ring (blue arrow).
