Is it possible to tell Proturan families apart based on overall appearance? All the keys I have seen are based on very fine characteristics only readily visible on a slide. Also, there seem to be very few or no photos or SEMs of identified proturans available? I only see diagrams, often not of the whole Protura body. Basically, I observe two basic appearances the long thin Protura and what appear to several versions of the broader more common Proturans (see attached images)? There are several species documented from my area in Alaska.

Can you help?

Best,

Robin
