It is now clear that miRs play an important role in various human diseases  and are target for future precise and personalized medicine. There is about 1000 miRs discovered so far but very little are known about the RNA binding proteins that specifically interact with double strand pre-miRs before the step of cleavage by DICER. A popular exemple is Lin28 that interacts with pre-let-7 and prevent binding and cleavage of DICER. I am looking for systematic reviews on current knowledges about all RNA binding proteins that affect/modular the miRNAs biogenesis to see how significant they contribute and which one is possible therapeutic target in which disease model?
