Hello everyone,
I'm modelling fatigue crack growth of a metallic CT specimen based in ASTM E647 standard in Abaqus using XFEM and low cycle fatigue with *DIRECT CYCLIC approach and have some doubts in how to model the material parameters, fracture criterion and Step in *DIRECT CYCLIC analysis:
I) I need to define some properties of damage initiation and damage evolution?
II) Is *FATIGUE CRITERION, TYPE=FATIGUE enough to model the crack propagation or i need to consider the VCCT criterion? What is difference between these methods?
Obs.: I need to consider the paris law constants
III) Is necessary to consider a *STATIC Step previously on the step of a *DIRECT CYCLIC approach in Abaqus or I can run an analysis with *DIRECT CYCLIC only?
