It should be mandatory to learn from what life teaches us. With COVID-19, we have been forced to buy sanitary materials because in our country there was no industry to do so (dependency) and we have also had to learn (workers and companies) to telework. These are just some examples of realities that could change. I would like a list of aspects to be improved in the lives of people derived from this global pandemic. I put the first:

Lesson 001: Teleworking should be optimized and maximized.

Advantages:

  • The risks of contamination for human health are decreased. Both for workers who go to their workplace and for teleworkers.
  • Telecommuting allows more time to be available by avoiding trips to and from the workplace and, for those who have to go, also because there is less traffic.
  • We could repopulate towns and less inhabited areas, increasing the quality of life and thus decreasing the overcrowding of cities.

Lesson 002: Increase of the industrial fabric.

Advantages:

  • It would allow greater self-sufficiency and not depend on third countries to live in the event of a pandemic.
  • It would reduce the number of trips and associated expenses.
  • It would increase the speed in responding to needs, such as producing sanitary materials.
