I am trying to simulate a flexible antenna on ANSYS HFSS. Here, I have used "PDMS" as a substrate and "pec" as a probe (inner conductor) of a coaxial feeding. But during simulation, it is showing an error message like "substrate and probe intersect". Could you let me know please the approach to fix this problem? If I want to use EGaIn as a patch, what properties of the materials do I need to add on the HFSS?
If two objects intersect you need to subtract the smaller object from the bigger object and ensure the smaller object is cloned so it remains in the model. To do this on HFSS, select the two objects and click on Subtract in the draw menu. In the options window, set the blank part to the bigger object and the tool to the smaller object, and check "Clone tool objects before operation".
Mohamed K. Emara Thank you so much. That problem has been solved. But I am now facing another problem. "Two few conductors were found on port 1. There should be one conductor for each terminal, with one additional reference conductor. Unintentional contact between conductors may cause this error.." Although I have used a rectangular sheet over the antenna input terminal and assign it as a port, there is still the same error. Is there any alternative way to fix it?
It seems like you're running a transient simulation? This requires the port to be touching two conductors. I might need to know more about the feeding of your antenna design to help but I answered a similar question before (see below), which might help.
