Hi,
I am trying to solve overclosure contact problem between a hyperelastic membrane tube and an elastic membrane plate during pressurizing
uniformly the tube in abaqus explicit. Using suface to surface contact, it did not work at all.
But, with general contact it was a little better. But, still I did not get a contact pressure along the whole lenght of my tube.
Does anyone have experience in such contact problems?

- What kind of material Model do you use
Mooney–Rivlin, Ogden or Yeoh?

i have a several question to be clearified:
- i do not see any dynamic behaviour like deep drawing or impact. Why do you use Explicit solver?
-results you get are resonable as far as i understand you. If the plate and tube have the same length (Z-direction) and you fixing the plate and the tube in (x,y and Z) at the edge of tube nodes stay in the same coordinate and towards the center you get this gap scince you have now an imperfection where the tube buckles and scince you do not use the Option with (NO SEPERATION) so it is normal to see this buckling scince you have a stiff and less stiff material Example: immagine a two plate one with thin layer (imagine tube) and thick, stiff layer (imagine Plate) as in the attached picture. why you should have contact between tube and Plate?
- why you do not use 1/4 Model you save a lot of time and you ensure a robest contact at edges you have only to apply symm at cutted edges.

actually my main dynamic step will be followed by this step, where I have to apply radial nodal displacement on the plate in a very short time. As the displacement are coming from the impact simulations. I have to use explicit solver. On the other hand, I have also pressure load in my tube during the whole time, so to see the influence of pressure and then the displacement, I have tried first to apply pressure in the first step and then keep the pressure constant and apply radial displacement on the plate to deform radially the tube.
