We need synthetic peptides for Elispot assays and we wonder from which company to get them. We have found that ChinaPeptides offer peptide synthesis at very competitive prices. However, we have no previous experience with peptides made by them and we would like to learn the opinion/experience of researchers who had used them. Also, based on your experience, would you recommend any particular company for peptide synthesis?
I am now able to answer this question myself. Here is my experience. I ordered 55 peptides from ChinaPeptides ranging from 9 to 18 amino acids. I requested 90% purity and 2 mg of each of them. We've got them in ~5 weeks time despite they promised to deliver them in 3-4 weeks. I was surprise to find that I've got exactly 2 mg of each peptide. You usually get a variable amount ranging around the scale that you requested. When I checked the MS provided by the company itself half of them looked very good, just a single major peak. However, many of the spectra were not that good and at least 12 peptides where, in my opinion, below the requested 90% purity (see attached example).
