We use 8-tube strips on our CFX96 RT cycler. The caps are separately (8-cap strips). In Biorad they told us, there is no single tubes with caps on this type of cycler. Anyone who has experience using single PCR tubes? Any references? Thanks a lot.
Good day, we are using both strips and single tubes with doomed caps (for real time pcr) or with flat caps (for normal pcr or reversed transcription). All all them works just fine. The only precaution that is necessary to take is to put empty tubes on the edges of the panel so that the lid is positioned correctly. Other then that there is no difference between usign individual tubes, strips or plates. In case it matters, we are using Axygen tubes.
