Any suggestion on an essay I can use to separate pancreatic and prostate primary cells growing together ? or an antibody that specific to pancreatic cell and not prostate cells and vice versa ?
@ Frank W. Falkenberg: Possibly cross contaminated them. As for now, I am not very sure if I have both cell types on the same plate. The reason I think i may have both pancreatic and prostate cells in the same well is the fact that I saw different morphology in one well, yet I cultured prostate and pancreatic cells next to each other. That's why I want to find some essay or technics i can use to validate or settle my concern.
It may be that the cell lines you're working with were cross-contaminated or misidentified from the get go! For a list of such widely used cell lines, have a look at https://ces.b2sg.org/misidentified-cell-lines/ . To make sure whether your culture is prostate- or pancreas-derived, you may do a short tandem repeat (STR) cell line profiling. For a list of companies that offer this service, have a look at https://ces.b2sg.org/authentication/ . I hope this helps!
