I would love to get some insight as to whether it is possible to use 4% formaldehyde instead of paraformaldehyde when fixing cells for immunocytochemistry/ immunofluorescent staining?
yes, you can, but it might affect the signals slightly, instead of it you can try 100% cold ethanol. incubate it for 5 minutes at 4 or 20 degrees for fixing cells
