Is it possible to passage cells seeded in transwell plates? If so, how?

I am wondering if cells seeded in transwell plates can be passaged? If so, how (just trypsin/equivalent?)?

If not, are cells supposed to be seeded in non-transwell plates first and then seeded in transwell plates when ready to run experiments?

Although trypsin can be used to passage cells on transwells, it is not recommended (it may wrinkle the permeable membrane and reduce cell harvest yield).

Typically, cells passaged in TCP are seeded into transwell plates immediately prior to experimentation.
