Dear all, 

I would like to conduct beta-Galactosidase assay. The protocol requires a permeabilization step using the recipe below:

for one sample, we need:

100 mM dibasic sodium phosphate (Na2HPO4)

20 mM KCl

2 mM MgSO4

0.8 mg/mL CTAB (hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide)

0.4 mg/mL sodium deoxycholate

5.4 μL/mL beta-mercaptoethanol

However, some materials are not available now, so I wonder if I can replace the above buffer by RIPA buffer? Thank you for any recommendation that you may give us.
