I am using T-PER Tissue Protein Extraction Reagent (contains a proprietary detergent in 25mM bicine, 150mM sodium chloride; pH 7.6) for protein extraction from gastric biopsies and lyophilizing them using labconco concentrator.
This question is quite odd, because serum proteins are already "extracted" (they are in solution). If you mean that you want to get the protein from serum and then suspend them in another buffer, I guess that the only way is protein precipitation (e.g. with TCA, acetone, and so on) or other similar methods. You can also try to use some chromatography. The problem with serum is albumin, is always the albumin...
