Can we use suppressor electrode in helium ion source?

In Helium ion microscope, we use tungsten tip,electrode as a extractor form but suppressor electrode has not been use so can we use suppressor electrode to make the fine beam of helium ion?

You can use the suppressor electrode to suppress electrons back to the source. This will result in stable operation of the source and helps space-charge neutralization in the downstream drift space.
