Can we use DMSO (dimethylsulphoxide) to dilute antibiotics belongs different classes for experiments on freshwater plankton?

Ofloxacin, Azithromycin, and Sulfamethoxazole are three commonly detected antibiotics in surface water. I would like to know whether DMSO can be used to dilute all three types of antibiotics above mentioned to prepare the stock solution to study the impact of these antibiotics on freshwater plankton species. Seek expert explanations in this regard. Thank you in advance.

You will need to do some controls to see if the DMSO is toxic to your plankton at 1-3% v/v. You also need to compare the solubilities of your antibiotics in water or ethanol. Ofloxacin is best dissolved in 1M NaOH, azithromycin can be dissolved in either DMSO or ethanol and sulfamethoxazole is best dissolved in DMSO.
