I would like to understand whether ZnSe/CdSe are present in the alloy form or present completely in two different phases? The core of the nanoparticle is ZnSe and the Cd is diffused in the system. I want to know whether the Cd is forming homogeneous alloy CdSe or Zn(1-x)CdxSe or forming core-shell? Is it possible to check this by Se K-edge EXAFS? The difference I see in the ZnSe and the CdSe phases is the coordination distance. In ZnSe, R(Se-Zn) is 2.44 A, and R(se-Se) is 4.00 A, whereas in CdSe, R(Se-Cd) is 2.60 A and R(Se-Se) is 4.29 A.
