Can tumor cells derived from BALB/c mouse be applied in C57BL/6 mouse?

Hi guys,

I'm working on mouse tumor models and I planned to inject tumor cells into C57BL/6 mice. Recently I found that tumor cells are derived from BALB/c mice. I also read some papers and realized that tumor cells need to be genetically matched to the host. But is it necessary to establish syngeneic tumor models? I'm not sure.
