Hello, I won't try & type your name, as I'll surely spell this wrong! I did the global children's challenge at a local school [it is on my site here]. There were a number of problems that applied to statistical analysis. 1. Teachers are difficult to work with, they are focused upon their own priorities whatever these maybe 2. the program of interest fell over school holidays so that interrupted the efficacy of usage, recording & return of units 3. Schools are not obliging to work with so wouldn't allow me to use any facilities for analysis of data, nor did they even provide me with a piece of cardboard for my poster which led me to be somewhat dismayed 4. I did analysis at home myself with excel, but due to the nature of the timing with school holidays, return & records were poorly kept by students & parents 5. any physical activity intervention is troublesome by the mere fact that young folk, middle aged & older folk now struggle to meet physical activity guidelines for several reasons, the predominant one being the overabundance of technology in this world which makes people more sedentary so I was expecting not many students would meet the steps/ day but the other factors contributed to making this analysis difficult. Technically analysis is feasible in theory, but practically I think you'll have difficulty working with schools as I said they seem focused upon their own agendas whatever this maybe & also are somewhat possessive of their resources which as I said me not being given a piece of cardboard for my poster was very upsetting for me. I guess it depends upon who you approach, places maybe different.
Firstly Thank you for replying. You wrote a fascinating post.
What you mention is correct.
However, I'd like to present an applied statistical model for evaluating the implementation of the school-based evaluation system. I want your idea if this can be done or not from your experience.
technically it can be done, but the obstacles being difficulties that teachers impose will mean your statistical analysis will be not be ideal Good luck Edirisooriya May I enquire please if you were able to read the paper I wrote
