As a general question regarding insects, mollusks, and crustaceans, I am wondering if non-clotting serum can be separated from hemolymph.

In the case of mammalian blood, the method is pretty straight forward, and involves the addition of CaCl, and possibly other additives, to blood, followed by centrifugation.

Would the CaCl method, using the same ratios of CaCl:blood used with mammals work, given the similarity of some of the clotting proteins in hemolymph with those in mammals?  Is there another method?  Thanks.
