It will be better, if you could explain in detail your methodology such as laboratory or pot or field experiment, what is your response parameter (mortality in case of insects etc; growth inhibition in case of antimicrobial response). If your are dealing with insects then how you have applied them (spray, dip or incorporated into the diet). If you could explain these things then it will be better to answer your question properly.
It depends on what are you measuring. For some assays you can use a dilution curve to check in which concentration of extract (fresh weight : volume) you have better resolution. This is valid for example for enzyme activity assays and also measurement of carbohydrates.
