i have synthesized pei functionalized mesoporous silica and chitosanfunctionalized silica 2 times using the following reaction conditions:

2.2.2. Preparation of MSN-PEI

The method of preparing MSN-PEI was according to the reported work [28]. EPTMS (0.4 g) and PEI (0.5 g) were mixed in 50 mL of DMF solution at 80 °C for 24 h, then 2 g of MSN were added to this solution and allowed to react for another 24 h. The product was washed with DMF and ethanol, then dried in the vacuum freeze dryer.

and after that i took ftir of gptms, pei, sio2 nps and pei-gptms-sio2

Preparation of Chitosan-Capped Mesoporous SiO2 Nanoparticles (CSMSNs) The synthetic procedure for producing chitosan-capped mesoporous SiO2 nanoparticles (CS-MSNs) was an adaption of our previous method.[39] Typically, chitosan (2.0 g) was first placed in an aqueous solution of acetic acid (5 wt%, 200 mL). After magnetic stirring for 24 h at room temperature, a transparent solution of chitosan (1% w/v) was formed and was ready to be used in the next coating step. Independently, powdered MSNs (0.1 g) were dispersed in EtOH (10 mL) by ultrasonication for 15 min and the pH value of this mixture was adjusted to within the range 3.5–4.5 by the addition of acetic acid. Subsequently, GPTMS (0.1 g) was quickly injected into this MSNs-in-EtOH dispersion with magnetic stirring (500 rpm) at RT for 3 h. Afterwards, the as-synthesized solution of chitosan (20 mL) was introduced into the mixture, which was stirred at RT for 24 h to prepare the composite chitosan-capped MSNs (CS-MSNs). These CS-MSNs were collected by centrifugation (7000 rpm) and employed in three cycles of rinsing with deionized water and EtOH prior to freeze-drying overnigh

i am confused either pei and chitosan are functionalized on silica or not? there are very few studies on this? i am attaching FT-IR any help will be highly appreciable thanks alot?
