AS far as I know, both ITS1F and ITS1 amplify the ITS1-5.8s-ITS2 region, but from literature so far, I found ITS1 primer is being particularly used for yeasts where as ITS1F is referred specific for fungal species. So I am confused whether to use ITS1F primer or stick to ITS1 primer. Can anyone help me in this regard? Thank you in advance.

Dear Bhaskar,
Yes, you can actually use any one of them. ITS1F is better than ITS1 if you are working in the plant DNA background. But if you wanted to identify yeast species from pure cultures, you can use any one of them.
