Yan et al., 2014. in their paper "A G-quadruplex DNA-based, Label-Free and Ultra sensitive Strategy for microRNA Detection" (paper is attached with this post) suggested  a ultra sensitive method of miRNA detection with the help of n-methyl mesoporphyrin(NMM), g-quadruplex DNA (GQD) and DSN enzyme. The interaction of the GQD and NMM led to a label free signal output. In this experiment author used f-7000 spectrometer from Hitachi, Japan.

Unfortunately in our lab, we do not have F-7000 fluorescent spectrometer or any likely instrument. What we have a small bench top flurometer from invitrogen, Qubit 2.0.

Can I perform the same experiment using qubit 2.0?

Protocol: Fluorometric Analysis- All fluorescence measurements were performed on an F-7000 spectrometer (Hitachi, Japan). The instrument settings were as follows: λEX= 399 nm (bandpass 10 nm), λEM from 550 nm to 700 nm (bandpass 10 nm) and the photomultiplier tube (PMT) detector voltage = 500 V.

Incubation were performed on a PCR Amplifier (Yan et al., 2014, Scientific Reports, 4:7400).
