I am going to collect venous blood samples for the thesis project. and my inquiry is, does fixed-angle centrifuge suitable to be used for plasma fractioning for miRNA extraction? especially, K2 EDTA (gel separator) will be employed for venous blood collection.

Saeed Aldosari , as far as I know, both the fixed angle and swinging bucket rotor types should be fine to isolate the plasma fraction from the blood collected in EDTA tubes. I remember using both the types and they have worked well. The RNA extraction would be done using a typical bench-top centrifuge (fixed angle) and you can isolate the miRNA fraction simultaneously during the process of RNA isolation using any of the kits available.
