In my opinion, the most important thing is that your cell lines (epithelial cells and DCs) originate from the same organism (human or animal). As a you know, your model have to be as physiologic as possible to obtain relevant datas.
If the two strains are from the same species, you are more likely to have some success in your co-culture experiments. Some people have tried inter-species experiments with relative degree of success.
In my opinion you can. There should be no reason to get any allo-reaction. DC should not participate to the alloreaction, moreover your is an in vitro assay with only DC and KC. I think should be fine.
