Is it possible to have two protein variants transcribed from a transfected plasmid (or viral vector)?

Not in the sense of using IRES or P2A/T2A, but rather in having two proteins with the same C terminus, but a variable N terminus (or vice versa).

Imagine DNA encoding A-B-C, allowing translation of proteins A-C and B-C. Or even DNA for A-B-C-D leading to protein for A-B-D and A-C-D (but not A-B-C-D).

Thanks!!
