Can anyone tell me the protocol for constructing a standard graph of ONPG for beta galactosidase assay?

I want to know whether ONPG is converted to ONP or directly ONP is used for the standard graph?

ONPG is converted to yellow ONP. But for the standard curve, you need to measure the absorbance of a series known concentration of ONP.
