At iQ Biosciences, we use qualified normal human serum complement for our CDC assays as this provides good translational approach. While rabbit complement is less expensive, what most people do not know is that rabbit complement can bypass human complement inhibitor factors due to a lack of cross-reactivity. This can lead to an overestimation of CDC potency.
