I am studying a particular aspect of cell death and need to purify a tagged protein from apoptotic cells. Can anyone suggest cell lines that are (1) sensitive to apoptotic stimuli, (2) easily transfectable, and (3) will result in a high yield of overexpressed protein? I am currently using U2OS cells, but the yield is much lower than I'd like.

Jurkat are sensible to Fas mediated apoptosis (you can buy sFasL) and are easily transfectable and easy to manage since they are a suspension cell line.

Try to use HEK293T cells. They meet all three of your demands. We usually use Lipofectamine 3000 for transfection.
