I wanted to dissolve my samples with acetonitrile, but the moment I add in the acetonitrile, my sample precipitates. I don't know why it is like that. My dry extracts obtained from several extraction with ethyl acetate. Please help. Thanks
Acetonitrile is more polar than ethylacetate. Your extracts may have not been well soluble in it. It might be worth using THF if is compatible to your analysis or situation.
Ethyl acetate is more non-polar than acetonitrile. More non-polar component that well dissolve in ethyl acetate may no dissolve well in acetonitrile. You may want to tell me why you need to put in acetonitrile, what is the next step after that, for instance, it is compatible with HPLC mobile phase (lots of water) where ethyl acetate is not compatible. Explain more.
