Is anyone familiar with the encapsulation system Var J30 from Nisco?
I want to produce chitosan microspheres with approximately 50 micrometers using this system, but I am having some difficulties in finding the adequate conditions (flow rate, pressure and nozzle). So far I have tried chitosan solution of 0.5% and 1% (w/v) and tried some variation in the flow (0.25, 0.5 mL/min) and pressure.
I don't want to encapsulate anything , just produce the microspheres.
We have synthesized N-functionalized carbon microspheres (2-5 microns) from chitosan using hydrothermal carbonization. Could you give please more experimental details. Best regards
You can get more powder form through milling of micro particles.

Regarding the experiment, I am using TPP to form the microspheres (chitosan solution will be dropped into this solution). I have tried different variables, but I couldn't find the right conditions in order to produce smaller particles. Should I use less concentrated chitosan solution?

Yes, TPP means sodium tripolyphosphate, and I am using it as crosslinker agent, I am dropping the chitosan solution into TPP solution, which allows the formation of the microspheres. The thing is that it works with this system, I can obtain microspheres, I just can't obtain them with the particular size of around 50 micrometers. I can't find the adequate conditions on this Var J30 system to form these microspheres.
