You can import several data formats into origin. Maybe you can export your XRD data into some kind of .csv or something that can be imported easily. However with no knowledge of the formats available to you, answering your question is not possible.
I have .pek file given by the XRD operator. He has copied the contents into MS-word as well (intensity vs 2-theta). I want to know how to plot Intensity vs 2-theta in origin. In short, I want to convert figure 1 to figure 2(2 XRDs in same plot)
I use Jade 5 to read XRD pattern. My file of XRD is in raw format. Then it is easy to save your data in txt format. After that you can export those data to Excel file and then you can copy the data from Excel file and paste it in Origin 8 and plot it.
If you have the data in the Excel file, copy the data (angle and intensities) of one XRD curve in the origin file then add the the intensities of the second curve in new column. Add some constant to the second intensities (the amount you want to raise the second curve from the base level). Select two theta as X-axis and the two intensities as the Y-axis to draw the graph. Make sure that the parameters used to obtain the data for the second XRD pattern are the same as the first one to have a comparison.
If you have file with extension .ASC, you can directly import it to origin by clicking file menu, then go to Import ---> Import Wizard. Then choose the file you want to import (i.e .ASC), the click Add File(s) to add the selected file. Click Ok to return to origin and click Finish to complete the Import. A new origin file with theta and intensity value will be generated. Plot the data as you normally do.
Now I have the same problem, I solved it by using Fullprof suit - winploter (which is free to download from web) to plot the chart then I saved chart as .dat file after that I can open it by origin.
