Does anyone know how to calculate UV-B DNA dose weight with the DNA damage action spectrum of setlow? i have been trying to figure it out reading the article but couldnt figure it out..
It is extremely tricky with the UVB sources, because - as far as I know - emission spectra can differ between different lamps and can drift as the lamp ages. If compatible with your application, I would advise to use a mercury UVC lamp with a single band emission at 254 nm (which is optimal to induce damage in DNA and makes dosimetry easy). The yields of different types of DNA photoadducts for UVC are described in the literature (check papers of Jean Cadet and co-workers)
