I'd like some advice on some statistics.
I am producing a device in batches of 50.
I require a particular property of the device to be above 1.88 for it to be considered a pass.
I have tested that property on 11 out of a single batch (50) of the device and get a mean of 4.485 with a standard deviation of 0.461.
I would like to determine the minimum number of samples to randomly test from a batch in order to be confident (95% C.I.) that the particular property of the whole batch is above 1.88.
I'm a bit rusty on my stats so any advice would be appreciated.
