Imagine you have two groups of rats, control and experimental. Each contains 100 rats. You want to perform Western blot analysis of the protein of interest, lets say from the liver homogenate.
The analysis should be semi quantitative, not qualitative. You have also a reference protein. How many blots do you prepare?

Yes, I completely agree that using ELISA is much better. The question, however was about Western- because you can see sometimes such results in publications and I simply wonder how people did it.
