I've read that there are several methods for the administration of exosomes to mouse models (e.g. intravenous/tail-vein, retro-orbital, intraperitoneal, intranasal, and subcutaneous) and I was just wondering what the advantages/disadvantages of each are – or in other words, how to select the right method for a particular study? For context, I'm wanting to look at the biodistribution exosomes derived from breast cancer cells.
If you could link me any papers discussing these methods that would also be greatly appreciated!

IA or IV administration could be the best, especially for studying biodistribution of exosomes in mouse different organs (liver, lungs, spleen, kidney, heart, brain), as IA or IV routes allow maximum availability of exosomes in the bloodstream, avoiding the absorption process. Moreover, if you are checking Exo targeting/biodistribution towards a specific organ, then routes of administration depending on its outcomes could be different, for example, if you're studying Exosomes exposure in the brain, then intra-cerebral and intranasal administration routes must be checked for systemic biodistribution studies.
