What antibiotics would be best to deplete only Gram+ from the murine gut? And which would be best to deplete only Gram-?
I was originally going to use Ampicillin and Vancomycin, as this one protocol suggested, but I think they are too broad spectrum. Keep in mind i'll be administering these in the drinking water over a period of weeks.

You should use Linezolid for depleting Gram +ve strains specifically in the murine models.

Understanding the biology of competitive exclusion, interspecies protection, and gene flow of adaptive functions in the gut environment may inform the design of new strategies that treat infections while preserving the ecology of our beneficial constituents.
