Computational Fluid Dynamcs (CFD) is used to determine several output parameters giving certain assumptions suited to the problem on Diesel engine or Variable compression engine. Now a days, computer is directly connected to the experimental setup to get pressure- crank angle diagrams, know peak pressures, smoke levels etc. Diesel R-K software is also used to evaluate output parameters. Owing to this, what could be the deviation of CFD with experimentation?

This is an incorrect question. CFD modelling of tubulent combustion is under development. Therefore, there is no standart tools, methods, and solutions. The accuracy depends on the qualification of researcher. CFD modellimg can be more accurate than experiement if it is done by "Einstein" or may have a discrepancy of 100% if it is done by a bachelor student.

Focus is not strictly on to turbulent combustion. It is quite true that CFD cannot give all the output results in order to compare with experiment However, some output parameters may be estimated by imposing assumptions as close as possible. Most of us are actually working on this tool to determine the output parameters, what could be the limitations to use this tool? and up to what stage this can be applied? If at all, this is obsolete, what is the correct tool?
