But in today's scenario this things are not possible in most of the institutes so think twice before you join a tution because tutions are for extra knowledge and not to cover your course.

Why do students go to classes?

Personally I don't is needed at college student level albeit there are still such practices that I observe. Reason being students at college level should be more independent & resourceful enough to support themselves how to study better.

Moreover, tuition fees at college level might be expensive vs lower / secondary school level and not many tuition centers because college courses can be varied i.e. no mass market or economy of scale to provide such tuition services.

in most of the cases tuition is not required, i dont recommend to my students.

It depends on the student himself/herself, those students who have difficulty following classroom based teaching may find it more easy to assimilate knowledge and clarify concepts through more direct interaction with subject instructors than possible in conventional classroom setting.

Tuition is crucial where access to textbooks and other learning resources is difficult. limiting students entirely to tuition and restricting their choice of answers to same is disastrous. yet in developing countries, most instructors are not as accommodating to different sources of knowledge as needed thereby stifling the confidence and creative imagination of students. the key is for teachers to be wide read and thus understand different approaches to their courses.

However, today's competition environment unfortunately has reduced the race in the students to the level of primary school. In my country, in this competitive environment, for some colleges most of the families ready for paying tuition and sometimes these fees can put the family budget into trouble

Tuition is not necessary for all the students but for some special students who are lazy, incapable, irregular, having deficiency in their studies and unable to plan well. Educational background of parents and standard of educational institute of such students may have special importance in this regard.

In my country, students enter the university with 17-18 years. At this age, some children have not fully matured. I contribute this data, by my experience course after course, in subjects of the first year of the race. These children that I comment, mature during the first course of the race and, although they possess enough skills, can fail precisely because of their immaturity. It should be noted that the transition from the institute to the university not only implies a quantitative leap (greater academic difficulty), but also a qualitative leap (new academic scenario). That said, I conclude that, in my opinion, for this group of new students, it may be interesting that the university generates a set of activities aimed at cushioning this abrupt leap that may represent the passage to the university. Once this situation is saved, the university student has enough maturity to understand the economic effort he represents for his family and his country, his university studies and act accordingly

While i agree that tuition should be affordable, I am not sure the issue under discussion is the tuition fees themselves but whether or not tuition is relevant. Should college education be modeled in a way that does not emphasize weekly contact with instructors/Lecturers in the classroom? I still maintain that where access to course materials are near impossible, tuition is prioritized. Conversely, if readily available, then it is better to guide learners and thus tuition may be secondary factor in the education equation. But in both cases, we cannot do or wish away tuition for several reasons including immaturity expressed by Francisco Martínez González .

In my opinion, a college is a place for advanced education where a student would not be spoon fed with individual attention. An ideal student would have chosen the course on the basis of his interest. If he struggles to learn, then he probably has chosen the wrong career path. Professors provide overall guidance but don't entirely function the way a school teacher would. Tuition are not advisable, however in the worst cases, I see students resorting to tuition classes.

I think public universities have to schedule tutorial action activities aimed at new students in any of the studies they offer. These activities may include: actions aimed at facilitating the incorporation of the student to the university, to learn how to manage their time or how to study. This is such a poorly worded question. I believe what the member meant was "Is tutoring necessary for a college student?" The word tuition in most of the rest of the world refers to the fees that are needed to enroll in a college course.

To answer the question, tutoring may be necessary for some students who are slow learners and have difficulty keeping up with the pace of the class and understanding the concepts. That is why many universities and colleges in the USA have tutoring centers as part of the college or university where students can spend time seeking help on their subjects. Additionally those who can afford it may hire private tutors to get help with their coursework.

Regular study in colleges are different and tutions are different. If a student does not follow the lessons, one may go for tution on additional payment outside. This is not necessary in general but if the student is not following the subject or have a complete doubt or not going to classes regularly may opt for tutions and go. Now a days, tutions are becoming compulsory for students as additional classes to get competitive spirit to face competitive exams.

Regular study in college is must for each and every student, apart from this, if the student is not able to follow the class or getting more doubts, eventhough, clarified in class or want to learn advanced topics in the subject concerned, one may prefer to go to tutions. I feel in general, undergoing regular college study, there is no necessity of going to additional classes or tutions outside but one can study at home.

I can see a change in the process of learning. Students want spoon-feeding and mostly they lost the habit of reading books. I feel, we teachers should encourage students to read more books on their subjects of interest besides the class notes. If we can introduce the habit of reading text books in them, they do not need so called private tutor after college. You can consider it as my experience.
