Are there any papers or other information on the effect of different concentrations of dextran solution on cell buoyancy?

For example, I have a 8.603059e15 molecules of 70kDa dextran per mL of media into which I put HeLa or 3T3 cells, usually at either 1:1 or 1:3 ratio, trying to have them semi-buoyant... I was wondering if any publications have already been made on a similar topic

If cells have a density of ~1.08 g/ml you should be able to compare that to your dextran solution -which you should measure directly with a volumetric method + balance. Have you looked at this paper: Grover et al. PNAS 2011 108(27) 10992–10996 doi: 10.1073/pnas.1104651108?
