Hi all, just wanted to ask if anybody has used any phospho-p38 antibodies with success? I have been experimenting with a few of the cell signaling antibodies for p-p38 (D3F9 and 12F8 to be specific) but wanted to see if anyone had used anything else? Thanks!
I usep38 (9212) and phospho-p38 (9211) antibodies from cell signaling. They are perfect for western blots. I also try phospho-p38 antibody for ICH with paraffin embedding, it is also workable. Please check these websites.

Several commercialized antibodies for phospho-p38 MAPK are useful for WB, but if you would perform IHC, I strongly recommend #9211 Phospho-p38 MAPK (Thr180/Tyr182) Antibody, which you can easily purchase from Cell Signaling Technology. In our experience, other commercialized antibodies including #9215 Phospho-p38 MAPK (Thr180/Tyr182) (3D7) Rabbit mAb are not appropriate from the perspective from non-specific reaction in the human/mouse tissues, without precise reason. Please see the attached representative picture which demonstrates the inversed expression pattern between p-38MAPK and CD44 variant, one of the cancer stem cell markers and contribute to the anti-redox system via xCT transporter stabilization.

Hi. we use cell signal antibody Cat # 9211 it works good. Use TNF alfa or Methy methane sulphonate as positive control to stimulate p38 phosphorylation. All the best.
Thanks everybody for the answers, and I will look into CST's #9211. I should have clarified this from the beginning, but I am using them specifically for IHC-although in the future we will also be measuring p-p38 expression with western blotting.
yes, agree, cell signaling antibody Cat # 9211 is good,and, you know there are 4 protein isoform of p38, and the antibody just recognize all of them( Four isoforms of p38 MAP kinase: p38-α(MAPK14), -β(MAPK11), -γ (MAPK12 or ERK6) and -δ(MAPK13 or SAPK4)). But it seems in most published paper, it was not mentioned which kinds of isoform in study, very interesting.
Since a lot of folks are chiming in, I thought I'd throw in my two cents. I have also used the #9211 antibody. I used it for WB and not IHC. So I can confirm it works great for WB. You almost can't go wrong with Cell Signaling Technology antibodies.
Did someone used the 9211 antibody with yeast extract to recognize Hog1?
