Is Bacteriastrum sp. a good outgroup for genus Chaetoceros?

I am looking at the taxonomic basis in classifying genus Chaetoceros. I have established its phylogeny using several character traits using Bacteriastrum as the outogroup.

It may be of interest to include OTU's from several different genera and then use different combinations of these with the ingroup to see if this has any "influence" on your phylogeny.
