It is commonly accepted that General Relativity has its own 'bare' cosmological constant that contributes together with the cosmological constant resulting from vacuum energy density for an effective cosmological constant. Are there any candidates for this 'bare' cosmological constant?
The cosmological constant defines the spacetime geometry-if Λ=0, expansion or contraction s uniform, if Λ0, expansion is accelerated.
In the presnce of matter, isolating the contribution of the cosmological constant from the contribution of the energy-momentum tensor that is proportional to the metric, isn’t easy but isn’t impossible, either. That’s how it was deduced that the cosmological constant of our universe is positive.
The cosmological constant term should be removed from the Einstein equations. This conclusion is based on a different explanation for the recession velocity profile of galaxies described here:

Then when you consider the small scale of the atom, the Spacetime Wave theory suggests that there are no quantum fluctuations in empty space so the quantum vacuum energy is also zero.

Cosmological constant is defined in frames of concrete model. If we choice the concrete model we determine the con the concrete n-model we obtain constant in frames of our choice. It we consider the model with non-zero lambda, we can obtain the expression of constant corresponding to our choice. For example, if we consider de Sitter model with positive lambda, we find by some conditions H = c/a, where the distance to horizon of events a = (3/lambda)^1/2. t is evidently that H must be linked with observable dates.
It's like asking are there any good explanations for unicorns that look like zebras if you don't have any good reason to believe in unicorns in the first place.
A better question to ask is why is the expansion of the universe accelerating. There are plenty of clues and this is a question that advanced civilizations are quite capable of answering. Unfortunately, you won't find much discussion of the clues in the academic literature, which tells you something about the survival prospects of the species.
