My colleagues and I work on detection surfactant in Tigris river. We try to use biomarker in our study.I'm very appreciated If you could mention the biomarker for this purpose.
For the determination of surfactants in water, they are determined by means of selective electrodes, ie, by the potentiometric method.

AChE is a suitable biomarker of surfactants in water. You can perform the study using cladoceran Daphnia magna. The inhibition of AChE activity of the crustacean will tell if there is surfactant and how much.

The use of AChE activity as a biomarker will not show how much concentration of pollutants in water. AChE may be a biomarker of exposure or effect. It will not be more than that.
