Would you be so kind to propose the analog of CRL-7800 cell culture (from ATCC)? We badly need these type of cells to have a hiwi expression in it as a positive control (as described in this paper http://www.nature.com/onc/journal/v21/n25/full/1205505a.html#fig3), but, unfortunately this cell line is discontinued..
If anyone can suggest something I would be very much obliged for the help.

I suggest you look for publications in line with this cell line and then contact the researchers to establish whether they propagated/passaged the cells in their laboratories. You can then agree on material transfer.
Hi Mark , I am guessing if you just need a positive control then it does not need to be a testicular cancer line (like CRL-7899)?
If so you could just search Google with "HiWi" and "cell line".

with has some HiWi +ve IHC pictures using the cell line Kyse-140 from the DSMZ

If you have a choice of lines then I would Google their doubling times and the key work "problem" (as in "I am having a problem growing xxx cell line).
The Kyse-140 above has a 24 hr d.t. which is pretty good.
