I'm trying to design a biodiesel production system that can run continuously using sub-critical alcohols (methanol, ethanol or propanol). While I'm well aware that normal operating conditions would not require temperatures exceeding 200°C, I would really appreciate it if someone here can help me with a pump that can satisfy the following conditions:
1. Operate at flow rates between 50 ml/min to 200ml/min (since its a laboratory scale setup)
2. Safely handle a mixture of sub-critical alcohol and heated oil ranging from temperatures 150°C to a maximum of 230°C. since silicone tubes can melt
The idea is to create a pressure differential that can ensure uni-directional flow between a pre-heater and a sub-critical reactor under continuous operation such that the pressurized liquid in the preheater does not flow back into the feed tank. (I'm not counting on the pump flow from the feed tank to counter the back flow entirely).
