Solidworks is a good option then you can customise axis and whatever you want in powerpoint or word then save as pdf for latex a vectorise figure with high quality
As my friend Amin said, Solidworks is the best. For example, two schematic views are attached below in this regard. (I drew them in Solidworks which is used in papers)
I assume you refer to beams and plates as AEC Structural Elements (Architectural, Engineering and Construction). In the AEC sector, the following (interoperable through IFC - Industry Foundation Classes) softwares are used: Autodesk AutoCAD, Rhino3d, Revit, Vectorworks. If you intend to use BIM Objects (Supply Chain CDP model objects) and import them into a 3d model then Graphisoft Archicad seems most popular with Practitioners.
