I need to purchase a new incubator to culture primary cortical neurons, neuroblastomas and organotypic slices. A sales rep is asking me to consider an air jacketed incubator. I've only used water jacketed models. The main reason I have to buy an incubator is that the one I was sharing seems to be getting contaminated more and more frequently. Although I'm happy to minimize the chances for contamination, I'm concerned the air jacketed model might cause more evaporation and present issues with the osmolarity of the culture media?
Anyone have experience/thoughts on this?
Thanks.
