I have placed order to a distributer of ScienCell for Human Oral Keratinocyte more then six months ago but haven´t got yet! They seem to be out of stock. I have some cells from ABM but I still need some other supplier.
This company, a pan-European distributor, has some good options from a variety of sources and the Sales Rep. (Jean-Francois) is very helpful with special requests:
Thank you very much Mark Livingstone! I have contacted the company hopefully I would get some cells from them. Do you have any experience of working with their cells? I have been working with ScienCell´s Human Oral Keratinocyte (HOK). They probably stopped their production of HOK.
Thank you so much Rakibul and Mark. Your communication is really helpful. Even I am looking for Human Oral Keratinocytes. I spent $700 in ordering HOK cells from Sciencell but they sent us a bad batch of cells and are not willing not send us a replacement. I am really disappointed with this company. I would greatly appreciate if you could suggest from where I can get HOK cells. Thank you so much!
Geetu, why do you say it was a bad batch? Did you make the PLL coating as instructed? These are some very finicky cells. If you want some help, I have made almost every mistake possible with them, and can point you in the right direction.
Hi Geetu, I do not know any other alternative companies except those are mentioned in the thread. I found until passage 6 or 7 the HOK cells grow quite well even without any PLL coating. From passage 8 they divided slowly and the cells size increases as you go higher passages. The cells require lot of attention. I also did many mistakes during my first few months of working with HOK cells. I am sure you must have tried in different ways. However, if you like to share what went wrong with your cells then I may be able to say how to troubleshoot.
